The Eastern Suburbs Camera Club holds a variety of activities every year in addition to the regular club meetings. These activities include:
Photoshoots
These are held at various locations, with members meeting and then self organising into small groups. These are often followed by a shared meal as the social aspect of these events are valued.
Workshops
Several workshops are held each year for the induction of new members as well as others that aim to provide educational content on matters that might be of interest to small groups of the membership.
The weekend away
Like the photoshoots, the weekend away venues are varied, although they are almost always held somewhere in regional South Australia. Typically members will all stay at a country caravan park, staying three nights, and sharing photographic activities and social events.
An Oscars night combined with an mid year dinner
The Oscars night is a light hearted best picture ceremony held after the weekend away with members submitting their best images from the trip, competing for the best picture and best supporting actor awards.
This night is combined with a mid year dinner. It is an important part of the club’s social calendar.
The Annual Exhibition
The highlight of the year for the club is the Annual Exhibition, always held as the last night meeting for the calendar year. As of 2023, the Annual Exhibition presentation night is combined with the Christmas dinner. All images accepted for the exhibition are displayed digitally on the night and various awards presented.
The exhibition of the accepted prints is displayed at a public venue following the presentation night.
